Trust, judgment, and care

A family-owned general contractor built on relationships, delivering commercial and residential projects from first plan to final walkthrough.

Our story

Norwood Contractors is a TN-licensed general contractor. Whether you're a client, a team member, or a subcontractor, we work to earn your trust as builder of record — with the same efficiency, hard work, and honesty we'd expect on our own projects.

It's the people around us who make us successful. Every day, on every job, we ask ourselves the same three questions:

  • Can we trust you?

  • Do you have good judgment?

  • Do you care about me?

Mission

Deliver outstanding value, quality, and service, with integrity and honesty, and a focus on a safe and caring workplace.

How we deliver

Norwood works closely with owners and architects to develop an innovative, efficient construction plan that's clear and compelling. That plan is then communicated to every team member, who deliver results with best-in-class execution.

What we do

  • Two people reviewing wooden flooring samples and architectural blueprints on a table, with building plans in the background.

    Design/build

Integrated planning and construction from concept through completion, with a single point of accountability, for commercial projects.

  • An unfinished interior space with exposed wooden ceiling beams, large silver ventilation ducts, and a bare floor. Multiple windows and doorway openings are visible along the walls, with some light entering the room.

    Tenant improvement & space renovation

Renovation and fit-out services for occupied and vacant commercial spaces in Nashville and the surrounding region.

  • A man wearing glasses, a plaid shirt, gloves, and a hard hat working on the ceiling of an unfinished building. He is standing on a small ladder with tools in his apron.

Building & property maintenance and repair

Ongoing upkeep and repair to protect the long-term value of your property.

  • Four diverse professionals collaborating around a table in a modern office space with large windows.

Project management & owner’s representative services

Budgeting, scheduling, and oversight on the owner’s behalf, from early planning through closeout.

  • Person installing a security camera on a ceiling with a screwdriver, ceiling tiles and cables visible.

Low voltage systems planning & consulting

Planning and consulting for low voltage systems as part of new construction or renovation projects.

  • View of newly built houses with green lawns on a residential street, with trees and hills in the background, under a partly cloudy sky.

    Single-family homebuilding

Norwood Contractors has partnered with Luxton to extend our commercial-grade construction standards to new single-family home communities.

How we manage a project

Four phases carry every project from first plan to final walkthrough.

01

Plan & permit

Plan review for constructibility and cost savings, coordinated with local, state, and national agencies for code compliance.

02

Budget & schedule

Scope evaluation, budgeting, and scheduling, with unit prices and allowances set early to keep costs predictable.

03

Build & coordinate

Trade coordination and progress meetings, backed by on-site inspections for schedule, design, quality, and safety.

04

Close & account

Change order and payment review, plus as-builts, warranties, and O&M manuals compiled at closeout.

Safety

Norwood Contractors maintains an accident-free workplace. We protect the integrity and value of our team, along with our physical and financial assets, through clear management direction and individual education, with an emphasis on personal responsibility. Safety is a collective mission we hold each other accountable to, through aggressive inspection, measurement, and reporting. Our goal is for everyone to go home safely, because we know our impact extends beyond the jobsite to families, friends, clients, and the communities where we live.

Community outreach

We’re always looking for ways to give back to the communities where we build. Giving back isn’t a once-a-year gesture for us — it’s part of how we do business, year in and year out. Most recently, we partnered with the Luxton Community Foundation to give away a home to a wounded veteran in Cookeville, TN, as a way of saying thank you for his service and sacrifice. It’s the kind of project that reminds our whole team why we do this work.
